How to refuse a drink

In this video young people share share ideas how you could decline a drink.
SPEAKER 1: You have just seen that the use of alcohol is inclined with several risks. But how can you refuse drinking if you don’t want to drink? There are several ways to do that.
SPEAKER 2: So my advice would be to not necessarily fight the person. It can be really hard to stand your ground when someone’s trying to pressure you to drink. So sometimes, it’s easier just to take the drink, set it down, and then go get where you really wanted.
SPEAKER 3: I would just say, no, thank you. I don’t think I need to give a reason for not drinking.
SPEAKER 4: I would probably just say that I was in the mood for something else, like a soft drink. If I was nervous about being pressured into accepting the drink, I would make sure that I’d thought of something to say in advance, so I wouldn’t have to think on the spot.

We have just discussed the risks of drinking alcohol and you could see what alcohol can do to your body. Nevertheless, many young people still drink and it can happen that you are in a situation that you will be offered a drink, but you do not want one.
