I have worked on Quaker history, theology and sociology for over 25 years now. I work at Woodbrooke, the Quaker Study Centre in Birmingham but also work with Lancaster and Birmingham Universities.

I have a background in social anthropology and sociology. I have researched schools and higher education for more than a decade. I work with online learning, developing courses and doing research.

I am Professor of Romantic Studies in the Department of English and Creative Writing, Lancaster University. I have published widely on Wordsworth's poetry. I enjoy fell-walking in the Lake District.

I'm a recreational mathematician and metagrobologist and head our institute's technology in education unit. I have a Ph.D. in theoretical quantum chemistry, and think math and science are really cool!
