  • @GemaNavarroGarcía Sounds like you are on the right track and know what you're doing! Best of luck - let me know if I can answer any questions!

  • @RyanMorgan That's great that you are seeing more engagement. It's not a sure thing that more engagement will mean more work but remember everything takes time so keep at it and I am sure you will see some results!
here's an article that may help
    https://www.salesforce.com/ca/blog/2016/03/turn-instagram-likes-into-sales.html

  • @EwelinaSzandor I totally understand why you might be nervous, it can be very overwhelming but you are in the right place! It's all about taking little actionable steps to reach your goals. There are plenty of tips throughout, choose the ones that resonate most with you and get going

  • @FatimaRehman absolutely there's a lot to say - check out these articles that should give you a better insight :) The first one will explain the difference between demographics; psychographics; behavioural and geographical...

  • Hi @FatimaRehman - this should be answered later in the course. In the meantime do take a look at these articles that may help answer your question. If not get in touch with me again later on in the course...

  • @FatimaRehman Hey Fatima, a niche market is a small and specialised group of consumers for a particular product or service

    An example would be:
    1) the conscious consumer
    2) Home owners
    3) travelers
    4) pet owners
    5) locals (aka consumers that live in a certain area)
    6) plus many more examples!!!

    Hope this helps

  • @ReticaJohn - that ad did it's job and achieved its purpose then!

  • @NataliaMayo great observation about the short and sweet caption!

  • Hey @AnneAtkinson - I totally understand your worry. I think the aim is to understand where your priorities are and plan your strategy accordingly. It doesn't have to be 5 times and it doesn't have to be a post with an essay of a caption. I recommend that you take an hour of the week to plan out your posting schedule. This will include what type of post,...

  • @JuliaHancharova glad you found it helpful!

  • @FeliciaSinggih absolutely! By tracking a campaign you are able to get specific insights to its successes and shortcomings. It helps you to understand what your audience responds well to and what they don't which in turn helps them to create more powerful advertising!

  • @GemaNavarroGarcía Interesting! When you see ads for something you have searched for it's due to cookies and your IP address which track your activity and provide advertisers with information about you to help them target you with their products and services. Clever but scary when the ads seem so specific!!

  • Great observation @LyndseyCrump :)

  • Great to be doing some skill building!!

  • @GiZ. Hey Gi, there is no right answer here but I would suggest understanding the demographics of your target group and base your strategy on that. Think about which groups may prefer instagram or facebook or twitter or whichever platform.

I found this article that may give you a better understanding:...

  • Thank you all for the great feedback - pleased to hear you have enjoyed it and found it useful. Hopefully you will have all picked up on some golden nuggets to take away with you on your Social Media journey!

  • @DerekB Instead of how many products sold you can look at engagement with your online content. Do you have a question you'd like me to explain?

  • @HazelHaynes that's a shame - let me know your feedback :)

  • They are like mini goals to measure success rate!

  • Hey @ZoeJohnson hootsuite is great - here's a list of other options. Remember to research and weigh up your options https://buffer.com/library/social-media-management-tools/

  • Hey @JohnScott - I understand your frustration. Where can I help? Is there anything you need me to explain? Please tag me in your comments so that I can be notified of your questions! You can do this by typing the "@" followed by xenian

  • Have a think about how you may use this. What are your KPI's? What do you need to measure for success?

  • Great!

  • Interesting observation!

  • Interesting observation. Perhaps this will help you craft your social media strategy by understanding your pain points with it! :)

  • Hey @JohnScott - feel free to ask me any questions I can support you wherever possible. Let me start by explaining hashtags to you and linking you some articles for you to read and then please get back to me if you need more support.
So firstly, a hashtag is a word or a short phrase that we use on social media apps to help people group and identify messages...

  • great advice @MichaelVera

  • Hey @DerekB
there are many ways to grow your audience, which you will hear a little more about on the course.
Here's an article on growing your audience on isntagram: https://www.impulsecreative.com/blog/7-ways-to-grow-your-instagram-audience
and here's an article on how to reach your target audience:...

  • @SaraMendes I can't recommend any apps per se but do have a look on the internet, there are many available!

  • Hey @DavidMoore, thank you for your question. This is totally understandable and a dilemma facing many. I would recommend baby steps - this article is an example of a job description. You can try applying some elements to your team. Start by opening a social media account for your business. Incorporate time into your meetings to plan who you might want to...

  • @KavyaSanghvi good point - not posting for the sake of posting. It is important to have a strategy put in place

  • Here are some tips for creating strong social media visual content:

  • Hey @ChijiokeManu-Opara
Absolutely that is a fair assumption. Whatever you post online becomes your digital footprint or what you leave behind for others to see. Some brands are only successful because of the reputation of the individual who created it. Can you think of an example?
For more information on digital footprints check these articles...

  • @HollyK Hey Holly,
this is simply a guideline to start engaging frequently with your customers.
Check out this article that may give you a bit more of an idea:

    https://coschedule.com/blog/how-often-to-post-on-social-media/#:~:text=Quick%20Sprout%20found%20that%20the,1%2D5%20tweets%20per%20day.

  • @LailaGinwalla Hey Laila, great question! Hashtags help to group posts of a particular theme so that they are easily found, allowing people interested in those tags to connect. For example, most recently we saw #blackouttuesday for the Black Lives Matter movement. This allowed people to show solidarity, connect and post content that would be grouped together,...

  • @NguyễnNgân No TV is considered traditional media. I understand the confusion as we may think of social media to be anything related to technology. A good way to distinguish between social and traditional media is to ask whether or not you as a user can interact directly with the brand or business. Check out this article for more information:...

  • @LisaSchwartz good point - likes mean nothing unless they convert to sales.. Also likes can be misleading because some brands can pay for fake "likes" and "followers"

  • Hi team - There's been a few pieces in the last few days on new figures showing a 36% increase in the number of job adverts posted by tech employers over the summer and the increasing importance of digital skills in the economy:

Digital skills are set to become a driving force in our economy -...

  • Great Zoe! Let me know your progress :)

  • @BilalAkram Hi Bilal, I've had a look at the video and what Jay is trying to emphasise is the HUGE amount of content created every minute. His example, "if you look at YouTube, with 72 hours uploaded in only a minute" - means that every minute over 72hours of content is uploaded on YouTube. I hope this has clarified things for you? Let me know if you want me...

  • @RobinWythe Hey Robin, great question! It's so important to share these amazing reviews on your social media - I know for me personally when I see a good review it often convinces me to make that purchase! I would recommend sharing these reviews on your social media stories or posts. You can use sponsored posts on facebook if you have budget otherwise get...

  • @RobinWythe Habits have greatly changed due to the pandemic, that's for sure. I can understand that it may be difficult to know when to target mums but you could consider posting during the day after drop off for example now that kids have gone back to school or speaking to some of your customers by making use of the polling functionality on instagram...

  • @NehaRiyaz I would recommend that you consider who you want to see your message or post.
For example many working professionals will check their social media during their commute or first thing in the morning/last thing at night but this may differ for example if you were targeting a "stay at home mum", who may have a scroll whilst her child naps in the day....

  • Nice - how do you think she has grown her following @LetsoThaba ?

  • @TFadilla Hey Tria, so you may notice that competitor brands will use the brand's follower data on Instagram or on another platform to target specific consumers. They may go ahead and follow those consumers knowing that they have an interest in the brand and their offering in the hope that they will follow them back.
For example, if I owned a small soft...

  • Great answer @NehaRiyaz - @SandhyaSaroj does that answer your question?

  • @MaureenStephens Hey Maureen - There is no formal follow up but the course runs for 8 weeks. I am here to reply to any of your questions in the meantime until the end of the course. You are also free to save all the articles and extra resources that have been posted or attached. Thanks for your feedback - I will pass it on to the Digital Skills team!

  • Great!

  • Absolutely - spot on @XavierJean-Noel

  • Hey @VickiDonovan - Yes there are! There are many ways that you can grow your following without paying for ads. The first way would be to share posts and content to your own page. This will reach your friends. Then you could ask friends/family or your co-workers to post to their pages as well. Then there are things like giveaways or if you're sending out...

  • @MaureenStephens Doing great Maureen :) You will find your notifications to any activity in the top right corner by clicking on the bell.

  • @CharisseWOng This totally depends on your piano studio! Word of mouth marketing is always great - having your students post videos or stories of them playing for example and tagging you in them. You can then repost this to your business page. It creates credibility. I would also consider opening a linkedIn account for your business to advertise. In the...

  • @DerekB It really depends on your brand and the consumer you are targeting. Some companies will need to post 5 x a day others, once a day or even 2-3 times a week. There's no golden number rule, however, what I will say is that studies have shown that 15% of "followers" will unfollow you if you haven't made enough effort to engage with them in the first 3...

  • @NehaRiyaz Great point - it creates a continuous conversation between business and consumer. You are continually "in-touch".

  • @sarahowen You can rest assured that you are posting correctly here ;)
