This program aims to develop an understanding of interdisciplinary teams, collaborative design and information flows. You will have the opportunity to develop skills that will enhance your ability to collaborate through the project life cycle, producing more efficient and sustainable projects.

You will also explore the wider benefits of BIM by assessing its impact on sustainability, procurement and the energy performance of buildings.

This program also aims to allow construction professionals to enhance their skills in order to improve project delivery, decision making, strategic thinking and communication.

On successful completion of this program you should be able to:

  • Evaluate the principles of change management in adopting BIM processes and technology in construction industry

  • Formulate solutions to specific design and production problems throughout the project life cycle in order to improve project delivery and in-use performance of buildings

  • Apply BIM processes for strategic management of building and construction process

  • Apply key BIM energy simulation tools and techniques to construction and engineering decision making processes

  • Analyse information workflows, protocols and data sharing

  • Evaluate how BIM can assist in the improvement of the energy efficiency and sustainability in building projects and the construction sector
