This program is part of the MSc Business and Organisational Psychology degree offered by Coventry University

Understand and measure important psychological differences between individuals

You will explore models of intelligence, from simple two factor to multiple intelligences and principles of test construction, to assess individual differences.

You will discover the main areas of theory, research and debate concerning individual differences and learn about attempts to measure human psychological characteristics.

The program will help you investigate the philosophical implications of these attempts by questioning the original scientific paradigm of psychologists involved in attempting such measurement and explanation.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this program you should be able to: • critically assess the various major theoretical models of personality and intelligence; • critically evaluate possible effects of intelligence and personality on various skills and attitudes; • discuss the applications of these effects within business settings; and • demonstrate a critical understanding of the principles of construction, ethical research practice and additional qualifications in test use.
