This program explores the nature and complexity of the business environment and analyses internal resources and strategic capability. It also examines the evaluation and selection of strategic options in relation to external and internal auditing. Key aspects and issues of strategy implementation are also covered.

A variety of teaching methods and assessments are used to support your study, including group discussion, case studies, quizzes and individual assignments.

The program addresses the key theoretical aspects of strategy and aims to apply them to practical activities.

I am a senior lecturer in Strategic Management at Coventry Business School. I Hold a PhD degree from King's College London. My research focuses on business strategy in emerging economies.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this program, you should be able to:

  • Critically analyse how corporate strategies are determined demonstrating good understanding of the complex skills and knowledge necessary to evaluate one or more strategic decision-making models

  • Differentiate between and determine appropriate strategic choices, using advanced skills in conducting research

  • Critically identify the barriers to the implementation of the choices, considering the consequences of strategy implementation

  • Develop effective communication skills to be able to present key results and recommend appropriate strategic action

  • Critically review and apply a range of approaches to the formulation of strategy of an organisation
