In Catalonia we are experiencing a crisis of the press and analogue media in the same way as the rest of European countries The impact of digital technologies, internet and social networks and now of technological platforms, like Netflix or Amazon has given rise to a deep transformation of the traditional media press, radio and television Companies have been closed, journalists and workers have been dismissed but new initiatives have also emerged, suited to the new environment The old media have been digitalized, the paper press has decreased its print runs journalists have adapted to the integration of social networks in their production and broadcasting routines Besides, the new generations, as all of them, access information entertainment and media mostly through mobile devices and social networks, above all Facebook and Twitter Yet, TV audiences in Catalonia remain at around 80% slightly higher than internet audiences (78%) while radio audiences are above 60% How is tv and press in Catalonia compared to the rest of Spain?
