What is the marketing mix?

To build a marketing strategy, it’s really important to understand the marketing mix. The marketing mix is effectively a way of mapping out the choices you will need to make about your brand or product before you start marketing it.

You’ve already seen where your strengths and weaknesses lie, but now it’s time to look at the choices you need to make as a marketer to commit your strategy to paper.

Over the next few steps, we will look at areas such as the 4Ps, 7Ps and 4Cs. These are all acronyms designed to help you start constructing a marketing strategy.

As we go through the 4Ps, 7Ps and 4Cs, make sure you download our worksheets or write the information down. We will use these details later in the course to help make a marketing plan. If you’re not actually marketing a brand at the moment, pick a famous brand to use as your example through the course such as Nike, McDonald’s or even Volkswagen.
