Skip to 1 minute and 21 seconds Hello, good afternoon, and welcome to Tayside news. Breaking news this lunchtime, we’re getting reports of a police presence on the west side of Dundee’s Law Hill. We’re being contacted by alarmed residents. It’s believed there’s a police investigation underway into a major incident on the outskirts of the city. Our reporter Val McDermid is near the scene. She joins us now, Val. Thanks very much, Andrew. Yes, I’m here in the Law Hill area of Dundee, just a short distance from the Law Road. It seems that some bones were found by a dog walker here this morning, who subsequently called the police.

Skip to 1 minute and 55 seconds The police are in attendance at the scene, and having sought the advice of a local forensic anthropologist, have confirmed that the remains are in fact, human. This, of course, has resulted in the setting up of a major inquiry. Search teams and scene-of-crime officers are currently at the scene carrying out a thorough investigation. As you can see, the Law Hill is currently cordoned off at the perimeter of the scene, pending further investigations.
