Skip to 0 minutes and 10 seconds We’re going to use the Clock of Keys to analyse one of the most important standards in jazz, Jerome Kern’s “All The Things You Are”.

Skip to 0 minutes and 22 seconds I’ve written the tune out for you and I’ve also written some voicings in one position. There are 2 positions that you can play the voicings in as you know. What we’ll do first of all is I’ll play the tune for you an octave higher so that we don’t have any clashing of the two hands. I’m going to use an Aebersold playalong, the volume’s called “Yesterdays. Music by Jerome Kern”.

Skip to 0 minutes and 54 seconds There’s two versions of this track: there’s the version we’re using and then there’s a version called “fast”. Even this may be a bit fast for some of you and if it is please slow it down. It starts with an 8 bar introduction, 8 bar vamp which I’m going to miss out. So I am going to start the track just a few beats before the tune. I’m going to play the voicings just one to the bar and I’m going to play the tune an octave higher first.
