ProM lite background information

Throughout this course we use the free and open source process mining tool ProM to show you what process mining can do. In this article we will explain, as we also did in the previous video, how ProM lite can be installed.

  1. Go to www.promtools.org to download the latest version of ProM lite for your platform (note: we do not recommend using ProM 6.x, so please use ProM lite 1.x).
  2. Install ProM lite using the downloaded installer.
  3. After installation, launch ProM lite to install all the latest packages. This might take a while so please do not close ProM lite. ProM will launch by itself once all packages have been downloaded and installed correctly.
  4. You should now see the ProM screen as shown below. In the next step we will provide a small quiz for you to get familiar with the basic layout of ProM.
