Introduction to Week 2

Kate introduces week 2.

We ended Week 1 by focusing on the need for you to be aware that the volunteering role may present emotional challenges for you too. In this introduction, Darren, co-founder of Crisis Classroom, explains that this part of the course will focus on how you can manage your own needs and responses, and create the safe spaces for learning which will enable you to be effective and supportive in your role.

The focus of this week is on informal learning in temporary locations, often in less than ideal conditions and with restricted resources. You will learn about the framework Crisis Classroom uses to structure activities with refugees.
