Unit Groups

.
A unit group provides the unit of measurement for counting products and associating pricing.

For example, if the product is bottles of lemonade, the primary unit group would be one bottle with additional units for a six-pack of bottles, a twelve-pack of bottles and a case of 24 bottles.

Unit Groups are a required component of the product catalogue and must be created before other features can be configured. The configurations for Unit Groups are found in the App Settings area under Unit Groups.

Primary Unit Group

The primary unit group, also known as the base unit, is the lowest common unit of measure that a product can be sold in and will vary from one organisation to another. If a technician’s time is being sold one organisation may have a minimum billable time as 15 minutes while another organisation may choose to only bill their technicians for a minimum of one hour or one day. You cannot delete the primary unit group.

Additional Units

Additional unit groups can be added a multiple of the base unit. For each additional unit, you will enter a name and the number of basic units. In the example of yards of fabric, an addition unit of 6 yards would have a quantity of 6 and the base unit one yard.
