Who is Inger?

A video with that introduces the Norwegian high school teacher Inger Langseth who the online course The Digital Transformation follows.
8.2
I guess people look at me as a creative teacher, who is willing to take risks. In the Norwegian context the curriculum is very open, the learning objectives are open for interpretation. So, I have a lot of freedom to choose the content that I want to bring into the classroom. So, I can choose to use text in the textbook if I if it suits my purpose. Or I can find content so that I can use anywhere else on the Internet. Because it’s fun you can do so much more than then you can with just the textbook.

So, it opens up the classroom to the world, and and you have lots of possibilities of content that is up-to-date, happening today and which is really relevant compared to the textbook. Which is more background knowledge in a way. Trying out new technologies was my way of staying motivated. Because I’d been I started teaching in 1987 and after 15 years you get pretty bored of doing the same things all the time. So, I took technology into the classroom and I tried out loads of things. Sometimes it works sometimes it didn’t work that well, but I was persistent and I stayed on I don’t really see using that new technology that don’t work as a big problem.

You have to try several times, when you try to introduce a new technology. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t, but you can’t give up the first time you try to do that. To be sort of informed about where I can find technologies I have networks I have, if you would like, a personal Learning Network. I have friends colleagues websites where I get informed about what’s going on what’s new. And every time I find something interesting that I might use in my classroom I register, take a look and then sometimes I try these things out in my classroom. So it’s all about staying connected.
