A handbag?

Monica’s handbag lesson.
Sometimes, you have access to no resources at all, because maybe you’re in a place where there are very few resources. Or maybe you’re asked at the last minute to cover a teacher’s class. Now, I know you’ve got a good lesson for this. So you’ve got no resources. I’ve no resources, and I’ve got - The Director of Study says you’ve got to go and teach that intermediate class now. What do you do? Well, what I have got - I’ve got myself and I’ve got my handbag. So one thing I could do is I could ask the learners to guess what’s in my handbag. Would you like to try? OK. So is there a mobile phone? Yes, there is. OK.
Have you got a wallet? No, not a wallet. Oh. Is there a purse? There is, yes. Have you got a comb? A comb? Yes, this was a present. It’s my comb from China. From China? Very nice. From China, yeah. Do you have a pen? I have got a pen, yes. In fact, I’ve got two pens. In fact, I’ve got three pens in my bag. Fantastic. So actually there you are. You’ve made up a resource just from things that you have.

In the video clip in the previous step you saw teachers using a variety of different resources to enhance the teaching and learning. But what if there are no resources available, or there’s no time to prepare resources for a lesson?
