It’s only together that we move forward

In this video, kiddy Smile discusses how he came connected to the topic of intersectionality and highlights what you can expect from the course.
Have you ever felt like you have a voice, but somehow you are never heard? Have you ever felt hesitant to be who you are or to express yourself freely? Have you ever felt that the things that makes you unique are not accepted? I have.
I’m Kiddy Smile. I’m a singer, dancer, producer, DJ, lover, friend, and I use my own creativity as a medium to break through the barriers that prevent us from feeling comfortable and accepting who we are. There was a period in my life where I did not see myself truly represented and accepted in the world, and there were times where I wonder where I belong. This has inspired me to become the person that I am today. By challenging stereotypes, we can begin to feel more connected to ourselves and to others. And this is why I have teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger to produce this course on exploring intersectionality, and what makes you unique.
Tommy has been at the forefront of fashion and lifestyle for several decades, all while supporting the current themes surrounding identity and body acceptance, whilst funding various project on social activism around the world. In this two week course, we will explore the concept of intersectionality, unravelling the experiences of marginalised people and marginalised communities. We will address how, as a community, we can learn to support each other, regardless of race, class, sexual orientation, and physical ability. Throughout this course, you will learn more about my own personal experiences, how I use this to form my own identity, and this may, in turn, inspire you also to enhance many aspects of your life.
Maybe there are ways that you can use your own creativity, talents, and passions to support this cause. Or maybe they are already movement that you follow, like understanding the life experiences of those that are very different from yours is very important. Because it is only together that we can move forward, and also make changes. So I want you to join me in this journey where we will explore your intersections and combine my own personal experiences with your very own unique point of view.
