Maths example (student-created)

A look at an animation made by pupils to answer a mathematical problem.

Over the next five steps, we will be looking at a range of pupil-made stop motion animation examples. Each one has been used in a different lesson and for a range of curricular outcomes.

This first animation was created by pupils as part of a mathematics unit of study. They were set a mathematical problem by the teacher and then had to work out the problem and communicate their findings through a short stop motion animation.

Please note that this animation is dialogue free.

Can you think of any ways you could use animation as part of a maths lesson?

How would these pupils have benefited from creating an animation to overcome the problem?

How could the teacher use the animations to help benefit other pupils?
