Insular Mediterranean landscapes: Rab

The island of Rab in the southern part of the Kvarner bay in Croatia is an excellent case study for the analysis of relict landscapes.

Mediterranean are often dismissed as marginal because of their limited resources and productive capacity in comparison to the mainland, although their very marginality makes them ideal places to study the ways in which biological or human communities have adapted to their environment.
