This short course has given a brief insight into the history of Design Thinking from early conception to current day use.

We explored what design thinking is and how it is used in a real-world context. Step-by-step, each stage of the Design Thinking Process was introduced, and its use with relevancy to various industry practices was explored. It focused on using a design thinking approach to practice and develop a well-considered, innovative and holistic solution to a real-world problem. Hopefully, this has become the foundation for using the Design Thinking Process as a part of all your design development.

Having experienced the Design Thinking Process first hand, you now possess the know-how to build upon this skill and use Design Thinking as a part of your everyday. Think of it as another tool in your toolbox to becoming a great designer. Design thinking as a process will help to solve problems, answer design briefs and approach challenges head-on. By practising this process and divergent thinking, you will gradually build the ability to design solutions that are innovative and have a lasting impact.
