OK, welcome to the fourMs Lab here at RITMO. And we are now going to talk a little bit about how we can do motion capture inside of this lab. And then we’ll get back to the library setup where we are also testing how we can do motion capture in an ecological setting. And one of the ideas here is to be able to explain to you then how we can think about the body, how you can capture the body in different ways. We’ll talk about the technologies, and also talk about different types of use cases or how we can use this type of technology in a research setting.
RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time, and Motion is a Norwegian Centre of Excellence hosted at the University of Oslo.

It comprises researchers from the Departments of Musicology, Psychology, and Informatics, several of whom you will get to know more in this course.

The research at RITMO is focused on rhythm as a structuring mechanism for the temporal dimensions of human life. This is studied in many different ways, including with motion capture systems.
