首先會介紹運動誘發型氣喘,運動時呼吸增加,身體在這時有很多反應導致支氣管收縮。這類型患者,可藉由症狀輔導控制來進行適當運動,對病情反而有幫助。

避免運動誘發型氣喘,首先要先注意控制環境因子,包括濕度、溫度、過敏原及空氣流通度。接著要配合醫療人員給予的藥物 (運動前30分鐘吸入支氣管擴張劑) 或非藥物治療,並注意運動前後的暖身運動、緩和運動。運動方式最好採間歇式,並隨時注意身體狀態。

由於病人年齡層分布較廣,從5歲到85歲都有可能,因此在氣喘病人間組成病友團體,互相給予關懷及心理支持,使病人能得到心理舒緩。目前常見的有音樂治療的方式,持續性的心理支持對病人病情的控制很有幫助。
