At the Waikato Institute of Technology., in Hamilton, New Zealand we offer the following courses:

  • A 15 credit level 6 Design Thinking launchpad where we introduce tools to multidisciplinary teams to solve hypothetical challenges (this is part of most degrees within WINTEC or can be completed independently).
  • A 30 credit Level 7 Design Thinking course where multidisciplinary teams co-create a solution to a real challenge with their industry partners (this is part of most degrees at WINTEC or can be completed independently).
  • A 120 credit Level 8 post graduate qualification in using transdisciplinary thinking (which encompasses Design Thinking) to solve industry challenges.
  • A 240 credit Level 9 Masters programme in using transdisciplinary thinking in solving an industry challenge.
  • Professional short courses, day long sprints, or day long investigations into one stage of the process.

  • DFGN or the Design Factory Global Network was born out of Aalto University in Finland and is currently a network of 33 higher education institutes or research institutes around the world. Get in touch with a Design Factory closest to you if you would like to chat about Design Thinking and any opportunities they might be able to offer you.
  • Stanford is a world leader in Design Thinking and has many online resources that can be used to learn more. The Design Thinking bootleg is a great resource to support you in your first few design journeys.
  • IDEO is a world leading Design organisation and provides some great overviews and examples of Design Thinking in progress.
