The Wellcome Connecting Science Courses and Conferences programme delivers genomics and bioinformatics training to global audiences.

The main model of delivery is face-to-face. However, the growing need and demand for training has led to development of online MOOCs and blended distance learning models. This has enabled reaching more learners based around the world form the comfort of their local environment. Recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face to face courses were all converted to virtual (digitally delivered) formats. In the attached file you will find an example of the same course, which is offered in the 3 formats – face-to-face, virtual and online MOOC. The table allows you to compare how the different formats adapted their course design to align with the delivery methods. Do take a look at it now, and once we have covered different elements of course design throughout this course, you can come back to this table again for more detailed view.
