We hope you have enjoyed the first week of this course, and have found it informative for your practice and/or interest.

You should now have a better understanding of:

  • Syndromic testing
  • How syndromic testing can add value to patient care when used with good clinical judgement
  • Antimicrobial stewardship and the role of syndromic testing in AMS programs.

Next week we will discuss the benefits and hurdles of syndromic testing, highlighting how some limitations can be overcome. We will look at the challenges faced in paediatric settings and identify how syndromic testing can address these challenges and improve paediatric AMS. Further case studies will be presented to exemplify how syndromic testing use can improve patient outcome and AMS in wider clinical areas.

Please let us know your thoughts on Week 1 and what you are looking forward to in Week 2 in the comments section below.

See you in Week 2!
