Summary of Week 3

Professor Hannah Kuper and Professor Tom Shakespeare provide a summary of Week 3.

Congratulations, we have reached the end of Week 3 and the course.

Throughout this week, we have expanded our horizons and considered the broader needs and fundamental rights of children with developmental disabilities and their families, including access to education, stigma reduction and social inclusion. Healthcare professionals can begin to provide holistic care that addresses a child’s overall wellbeing and quality of life, by understanding collaborative frameworks to address these needs and recognise their linkage to a child’s health.

As ever, we welcome your final thoughts and discussions on the week.

  • What has been the key take away messages for you?
  • How might you apply what you have learned in this week going forwards?

As we have now reached the end of the course, please do go back and reflect on steps that you aren’t as confident on. We recommend looking back at the course as a whole and analysing the connections between activities and your learning. We hope that you feel your learning and confidence has steadily grown over the past few weeks.
