Lack of Leadership
It is difficult to get somewhere without someone leading the way.
lack of leadership (Click to expand)
Organisations that have been successful tend to have an accountable leader who is making things happen. This is not always an explicit appointment but more often a leader who sees the opportunity and makes it happen.
The Aggreko case study from week 2 is a great example of this, it took a passionate individual to see the opportunity, take the first steps and start releasing value. The leader also needs to protect the team from organisational “noise”, politics and distractions so that they can focus on delivering.
Overcome inertia by appointing an accountable person to set the direction and lead the team.
