We discussed the fundamentals of game character design with an emphasis on narrative and gameplay. This week, we will be moving on to discuss the visual design of game characters, or what is more typically referred to as character art. I’ll be talking to some of the most important visual concepts which should provide you with an appreciation of the types of knowledge and skill required to work as a game character artist. I’ll be breaking this down into two main areas of study, visual design principles and the importance of anatomy and human characteristics.
