Skip to 0 minutes and 9 secondsWelcome back to the course. It's been terrific reading your comments and responses in the discussion spaces, and we encourage you to continue to share your thoughts and stories with each other. Yes, it's more than appropriate to keep the conversation flowing in a course about qualitative research. And speaking of conversations, this week, we focus on developing your communication skills to help you conduct effective interviews with your research participants. We'll be looking at different interview styles, tips for active listening, and other methods for collecting qualitative research data, such as observation and focus groups. Once you've collected your qualitative data, you're going to need to know how to manage and analyse it.

Skip to 0 minutes and 51 secondsThis week, we introduce you to a number of tools and strategies to protect the integrity of your work and also make sense of it. At the end of this course, you'll have the opportunity to take away a qualitative research planning document that you'll produce in relation to a research question of your choice. We hope you've had a great week and are ready to roll up your sleeves as we continue to discover why experience matters. Let's get started with the final week of the course. See you in the discussions.

Welcome back

This week, our focus is on data collection methods, interviewing techniques and strategies for analysing qualitative data. We’ll finish the course by creating a preliminary planning document that will help you take the next steps in your research journey.

Make sure you’re taking full advantage of the opportunity to collaborate with fellow classmates in the comments section at the end of each step and in the discussions. Sharing and critiquing your ideas will help build your confidence and solidify thought processes around your research topic.
