This course has a big question.

The big question provides a focus for your learning in the course and helps you think about what you will need to learn.

The big question for this course is:

Are mental health issues on the increase or are we better at diagnosing them?

Your task

  • What do you think is the answer to the big question?

Post your first thoughts on this question to the comments area at the bottom of this page.

Don’t worry if you are not sure of the answer at this stage. This is an opportunity to explore some ideas and we will revisit this question later in the course when you have learned more.

Have a look at other learners’ comments. If you can relate to a comment someone else has made, why not ‘like’ it or leave a reply? You can filter comments in a variety of ways including ‘most liked’ and you can also bookmark comments.
