着 zhe part. used to after a verb to indicate a state

门开着。Mén kāi zhe. The door is open

她穿着着红色的衣服。Tā chuān zhe hóng sè de yīfu . She is wearing red clothes.

Language points

The particle“着”indicates the continuation of a certain state, the structure is “v.+着”

门开着。

and if there is an object, the structure is “v.+着 (+ object)”. For example：

外面下着雨。

In the negative form ,“没（有）” is added before the verb. For example：

门没开着。

外面没有下着雨。

Dialogue 1

A: 门开着呢，请进。Mén kāi zhe ne , qǐng jìn.

The door is open. Come on in.

B: 请问，张先生在吗？Qǐngwèn，Zhāng xiānsheng zài ma?

Excuse me, is Mr. Zhang in?

A: 他出去了，你下午再来吧。Tā chūqu le, nǐ xiàwǔ zài lái ba.

He’s gone out. Please come in the afternoon.

B: 好的，谢谢！Hǎo de, xièxie!

OK. Thank you !
