Welcome to Week 3

Intro video by educator Fatma Guerfali on Week 3 of the course
8.7
Welcome to week three of the course. Now that you’ve been seeing how to handle and analyse your data using the command line during week one and how to write and run bash scripts to automate that handling during week two, let’s see together in week three how you can analyse and visually represent your data using R and RStudio. We will first review together the key concepts and basics of using the R language. You will learn how to manipulate lists, vectors, or data frames, and then also how to read and interrogate data from files in order to create simple plots in R.

We will then see how RStudio can really simplify these processes and you we learn how to work in the RStudio to easily create simple or even more complex plots. And for that, we will see how to use available packages that have been specifically designed for that purpose. I have been using R and RStudio for almost a decade now. And I’m really amazed each time I use them in order to interpret and visualise my data. We hope you’ll enjoy the last week of the course. And we look forward to hearing from you. Please leave your comments in the comments area that is available at the end of each step.
