General introduction to Arena

A general introduction to the Arena software.
9.3
In this video, the main features of the ARENA Rockwell simulation software will be explained. In general, this software consists of three main areas. The first area we call it the library area. The second one we call it the modelling area and the third area we call it the datasheet area. In the modeling area we can find a number of useful modules that can be used to create a simulation model. In the modelling area the simulation model will be constructed, developed and be available here and the datasheet area is just to set some of the parameters regarding these modules. So, for example, if we develop this simple simulation model then this simulation model would sit in this area.

To change some of the parameters regarding a resource, for example in terms of defining different capacity, etc. then this can be done in the datasheet area. We will be considering the Create, Dispose, Process, Decide, Batch, Assign and Separate modules over the next few weeks and as an advanced process we will consider the Match module. As a toolbar we have some functionalities we can use in terms of running the simulation model, step run of the simulation model, we can stop the simulation model, we can pause it then we can change the simulation model speed. We have a clock can be added.

We can add the calendar if we want to add a calendar for our simulation model and we can animate some of the data using the level, histogram and plot, this can be used to animate the data or the results. Then at the same time we can give animation to the resources allocated in the process. Other buttons could involve, for example, ‘Tools’ we can use the Input analyzer to model the randomness or uncertain data, etc. And then, for the ‘Object’, we can use the connect for example and ‘Run’ we can use different functionalities to run the simulation model.
