The Science Of Making Introductions.

AllBright. Sisterhood Works. Watch Lauren Maillian as she explains the science of making introductions.

In this video, Lauren explains why introductions matter. As she explains, lots of people know lots of people. So, if there is someone that you want to connect with, it can’t be superficial. If you just want to connect with this person because they’re popular, they will feel it. So, before you make your introduction, make sure you’ve done your homework. Ask yourself:

Have you learned more about who they are? Have you found some synergies between your experiences or your interests that you can speak to? Is there something that can be a conversation starter? Is there a better way to start a new relationship that feels more organic?

Find that. It almost always exists – and if it doesn’t exist, create it with your introduction. Create it with your tone. Create it with your invitation to be of support to them as well, to open doors to a more collaborative conversation that will lead to creating a resource rich network.
