Training online with the National School of Education and Teaching

Discover what it is like to study with The National School of Education and Teaching
The Coventry University PGCE course combines the flexibility of online study with practical in-school experience. You don’t need to travel to Coventry to study the course. We will help you to train on the job, under the supervision of skilled school-based mentors and experienced university tutors. Our course content is innovative and exciting, providing highly practical learning experiences and helping trainee teachers develop their craft in schools. The online study is designed to be studied at your own pace, fitting with the changing patterns of life and work, while the in-school components aim to offer hands-on teaching opportunities and collaborative learning experiences.
We maintain that there is no one way to teach and encourage our trainees to engage with a variety of teaching methods to develop their own best practice. We also champion the importance of continuous reflection and believe that training is not a box-ticking exercise; it is about improving practice throughout your career. We offer both a PGCE with QTS option, which can be studied from anywhere in England, as well as a PGCE International option, which you can study from anywhere in the world. We are also not tied to specific partner schools, so if there is a school you would like to, or already work in, we can assist you in organising your placement.
The content is tailored for both primary and secondary phases in all school subjects. If you aspire to be a first-rate teacher, who is respected and remembered by your pupils, then our PGCE is the course for you.

In this video, we’ll explain why studying with the National School of Education and Teaching, which is part of the Coventry University Group, might just be the right choice for you.

On our course, you will be based in schools for most of your time, developing your teaching craft under the supervision of skilled, school-based mentors and experienced university tutors.

The academic content is delivered 100% online so there is no need to come to Coventry to study. Our PGCE with QTS route can be studied anywhere in England, and our PGCE for international or independent schools can be studied anywhere in the world.
