Hello and welcome to week 4. This week we will take a closer look at the role of the consumer in making safe, healthy and sustainable food choices.

Over the last three weeks we have highlighted the challenges in feeding a growing population expected to reach up to 10 billion people by 2050. It is possible to feed this growing population with a healthy diet, but only if we transform our dietary patterns and food behaviours by 2050. These major changes need to happen in a collaborative way, to reduce food losses and waste, sustain healthy dietary patterns and improve food production practices.

This week we will explore the role of the consumer in the food chain and how they can help re-balance our food chain before it collapses due to high demands and climate changes, which are already affecting crop yields and composition.

We hope you enjoy.
