Sample Crisis Management Checklists
In this activity, you will review three crisis management checklists (CMCs) to get a sense of typical content, scope, organization, and level of detail. None of these are perfectly suited to your organization, but all can serve as useful examples for the activity that follows, which will ask you to craft a very high-level CRC for your enterprise. Don’t worry, you will be creating something very simple for this course. Later on, when your crisis management team is ready, you will be developing something much more detailed for use at your organization. This and the next activity are simply warm-up exercises for that time.
Example #1. The first example is provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They have labeled this checklist as their Crisis Emergency Risk Communication (CERC) Immediate Response Checklist. It is available here
