Skip to 0 minutes and 3 seconds Welcome, to the very first MOOC session! My name is Anna Bos-Nehles, I’m an assistant professor at the university of Twente in human resource management and I will guide you through this session. As you have probably understood from the introduction video, we develop this MOOC to help you to become a future-proof manager with the help of intelligent HRM solutions. The first HR solution I will introduce to you today is called HR flow. This is the process by which employees pass through the organization. It focuses on hiring, firing, transferring, promoting and retiring employees and the way these decisions effect employees and the organization.

Skip to 0 minutes and 45 seconds It incorporates a couple of subprocesses: inflow, throughflow and outflow. For managers, it is important to monitor HR flow to ensure accurate Human Resource Planning. It allows managers to collect data to predict whether the organization has a shortfall or oversupply of labour. This is an important process, because only 13% of global employees are truly committed to their jobs. Turnaround rates can move up to 25% in certain industries. Costs for selecting the wrong employee are about 500 million dollars in the U.S. only. Why is this? Follow this session and you will understand!
