#AskValMcDermid: join a Q&A about the relationship between crime writers and forensic practitioners
The free online course, “Identifying the Dead: Forensic Science and Human Identification,” from the University of Dundee allows you to take on the role of a forensic investigator and solve a murder mystery penned by crime writer, Val McDermid. As an exclusive preview, we’re inviting you to take part in a live video Q&A with Val and two expert forensic practitioners.
In the Q&A, you’ll have the chance to ask questions about the forensic investigation process, the different roles that exist, and where crime writers get their expert knowledge from.
You’ll find out how the work of forensic researchers can provide authors with critical, fascinating information to create the most chilling crime novels.
How to take part
The live video Q&A will take place on Thursday 27 August 2015 from 16:45 – 17:30 GMT+1.
To take part:
- Submit your questions as a comment below, or using the hashtag #AskValMcDermid on Twitter or Facebook.
- Come back and watch the Q&A as a live event right here on Thursday at 16:45 GMT+1 (see the time in your location).
If you can’t be here to take part live, don’t worry: the video will be available to watch afterwards, and you can submit your questions in advance.
