The focus of Week 1 was to present the scale of the food waste problem. The facts and figures are intended not to depress you but to show how important it is that we all do something about it. Global efforts to improve the way we produce and consume food are underway and changes in the nature of the food supply chain are becoming widespread.

We’ve shown that you, as a consumer CAN make a significant difference and encouraged you to produce an action plan that will result in long-term changes in your lifestyle. Some of those actions may be hampered by lack of knowledge or tools to make a difference. Don’t worry because next week you’ll look at some practical ways you can make changes both at home and in your local community and discover the wide range of resources available to help.
