Building your own social listening strategy

Over the next few steps, you will be taken through the social listening template to help you develop your own social listening strategy.

The topics that will be covered throughout the activity are as follows:

  1. Objective – One overall goal
  2. Keywords – up to five words or phrases to analyse
  3. Content – top 10 pieces of content in this space
  4. Trend Topics – up to five trend themes of topical
  5. Owned Social – key metrics on your brand’s own channels
  6. Competitors – top three competitors and key metrics
  7. Audience – your existing and potential audience – persona for each
  8. Influencers – top 10 influential followers, and top 10 mentioners

After you have gone through each of these topics, you will get the opportunity to fill in the template yourself. At the bottom of this step, you will find templates in PDF and Excel format to download, as well as a completed one as an example.
