Course Structure
Week 1: An introduction to the musculoskeletal health system, the most common types of musculoskeletal conditions, the impact and why this is an important public health issue, understanding the relevance of data and intelligence, the gaps and application of the digital tools. The course will focus on the public health function within the UK, specifically England.
Week 2: Highlighting the predisposing risk factors associated with MSK, such as mental health, physical inactivity and ageing. The impact of workplace health and multi-morbidity’s have been highlighted, leading to health inequalities.
Week 3: Highlighting the good practice, public health messages and support available to maintain good MSK health and reduce the risk of developing MSK conditions. Evidence-based interventions, tools and resources for prevention, early detection and treatment.
