Finding influencers

This step introduces learners to online tools for researching and contacting potential influencers.

There are also several tools which can help you find influencers. Links to each of these tools can be found at the bottom of this step.

Each tool has different scoring and selection systems to allow rankings between competitors and may offer useful benchmarks for choosing. These could also be useful to measure before and after a campaign.

Scores based on relevance, reach, and resonance allows you to find the most important influencers.

Do the influencers make sense for the brand and the objective? Also consider how receptive chosen influencers will be to your brand. It is possible to gain a broad overview of individual influence in forums such as Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn just by looking at their account, and seeing how they are using it and how they are performing.

Remember how important your own customers are and use all available information to select the influencers here. This could include purchase history as well as social influencer scores. Once you have gathered and compared all of this information about your potential influencers, you may want to archive those who you have not chosen to approach.
