Meet the team


I’m Oriol Pujoldevall, your lead educator for the upcoming weeks. Before introducing myself and the rest of the experts, let me thank you for signing up and wish you a great learning experience through the course.

Oriol Pujoldevall, Blockchain Specialist and Program Director

With a long background in distributed energy generation and electricity markets, his experience at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and at the UPC Barcelona made him a blockchain enthusiast. Altogether with his passion for renewables, he’s focusing his work on the new business models that blockchain has enabled in the energy sector. He’s convinced that this revolutionary technology will be the key component that will bring the energy sector towards a new paradigm of empowered users.

Grzegorz Bytniewski, FlexiDAO Co-founder, CTO  

Grzegorz is a Blockchain enthusiast, with a strong background in Energy Engineering at the KU Leuven, UPC Barcelona, Tohoku University, Hong-Kong PolyU and WUT. Involved in Blockchain space since 2013. He has developed a few Blockchain and IoT based proof of concept solutions for the energy sector, and is currently focusing on unlocking the responsive potential of residential demand through Blockchain technologies.

Simone Accornero, FlexiDAO CEO and Co-founder

Energy Engineer formed at KU Leuven, UPC Barcelona, UNIBO and UPV Valencia, based in Barcelona. Expertise in Electricity Markets (wholesale and local) and smart distribution systems. Driven by a strong passion for renewable energies, smart grids, sharing economy, blockchain and sustainable cities. Striving to contribute to the transition towards a decentralized autonomous electrical grid for a more sustainable future.

Christoph Burger, Senior Lecturer at the European School of Management and Technology

Before joining ESMT, he worked five years at Otto Versand and at the Bertelsmann Buch AG as vice president, five years at the consulting practice Arthur D. Little, and five years as independent consultant focusing on private equity financing for SMEs. His functional research focus is in innovation/ blockchain and decision making/ negotiation. He is co-author of the dena/ ESMT study on “blockchain in the energy transition” and program director of the open enrolment programs “blockchain, innovation as a corporate model and decision making”.

Alexander Kaiser, Blockchain Developer at BlockInfinity

Alexander Kaiser works for one of the largest German energy suppliers, among others, and has hosted various hackathons and workshops. Alexander sees the blockchain as the basis for a large number of future applications. He loves to design and develop new applications such as a decentralized energy exchange on blockchain. He is co-founder of First Momentum Ventures and MagmaForm.

Andreas Samper, Associate Professor at the UPC

Andreas Samper was born in Villach, Austria. He received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the Graz University of Technology in Austria, in 2000 and his Ph.D. degree from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, in 2008. From 2001 to 2002, he was Project Manager for innovation projects in the private sector. In 2002, he joined the Center for Technological Innovation in Static Converters and Drives (CITCEA) at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya.
