Identifying your marketing mix

In this step the learner will read about the types of questions they must ask in order to identify and understand their marketing mix.
To bring in early sales and build a customer base, any business must begin by identifying its marketing mix.

The first step in this process is identifying your target audience. You should put your customers at the centre of everything.

Once you know who your customers are, you can start to understand their relationship with your business. Ask yourself:

  • What problem does your target customer have?
  • What is getting in the way of solving that problem?
  • How does your product or service address that need?
  • How do your target customers feel about your competitors?
  • How do your target customers feel about your company?
  • What motivates your target customers to buy?

Next, you need to identify your goals for sales and growth, as well as your budget for any marketing initiative.

Think about your upcoming product launches and campaigns. Try to consider the marketing mix you have in mind and apply it. You will feel more comfortable once you show your ideas.
