Introduction to the environment
Use a virtual environment
We strongly recommend that you use a virtual machine to build a sandbox so you can test and play around with the tools without any harm to your production environment.
If you don’t wish to use a virtual environment you can go straight to the installation of Android Studio at your own risk.
Software packages requiredThe software packages we are going to use are all free to download (however, some of them may be used only for a trial testing period such as Microsoft Windows 8.1 and Fortify SCA):
- VMware Workstation Player
- a version of Windows 64bit.
- Android Studio
- Fortify SCA with Android Studio plugin and installation manuals
- the App code (BuggyTheApp)
Secure Android App Development
