The end of week one

This week through the example of wearable prosthetics we have emphasised the power of 3D printing in providing personalised solutions. The prosthetic hand highlights what is possible with 3D printing capabilities.

We have outlined the four key elements of any 3D bioprinting project:

  • The ‘medical’ problem
  • The ‘personalised’ design
  • Material selection
  • Fabrication method

These four elements will be a common theme as we journey through the next three weeks.
