Hopefully you’ve enjoyed week three and are ready to continue to lead pre-teach sessions and to start to look for opportunities to assign competence to your focus learners in lessons. Remember the aim is to help your focus learners to be active and influential in lessons not to simply run pre teach and assign competence - the focus is on the learners learning rather than on you doing. You will comment online about a specific example of assigning competence and how it meets the four criteria shared with you this week. You may wish to read more about assigning competence as part of complex instruction by accessing the research paper.

In week four we will explore how using pre teaching and assigning competence together can maximize the impact on learners.
