About
Federation University Australia is a premium dual-sector university that has been educating the leaders, innovators and thinkers of regional Australia for over 150 years.
Through a long and strong history of industry collaboration, Federation delivers learning and working experiences that prepare learners to engage and thrive in real-world employment settings. With almost 17,000 students and 118,000 alumni, Federation University prides itself on creating a supportive, inclusive and thriving community that embraces learners from all backgrounds and cultures.
Our programs cover a range of disciplines, including innovation, health, education, sustainability and arts to meet the needs of students and employers in the communities and regions we serve. In 2022, Federation announced its intention to become the first cooperative education University in Australia. The cooperative education model bridges on campus learning with workplace learning, and will see Federation students gain the practical skills employers are looking for by completing accredited learning in a workplace as part of their studies.
The University’s co-op programs will be developed and delivered in partnership with industry and employers and will provide academic credit for real workplace experience across all programs from 2025. Pilot programs in IT and Business will begin in 2023.
Building on our long tradition of industry engagement and strong graduate employment outcomes, Federation is leading the way in developing unique learning experiences that connects learners with local and international employment opportunities.
